@Lucile.Robinson: Yes, this material is still available when the discussion closes. Our plan is also to gather key points and produce blogs of those to put on the BRACED website. Once the BRACED website is live, these discussions will occur on that site
@Aditya(ODI): Thanks for letting me know, Aditya. I will explore if there's a way to make sure that something you click on opens in another window
As more background: future discussions will be anchored around key learning themes. For example, Gender & Social Equity as well as Technology & Innovation will be the two learning themes the KM will focus on during 2015. That said, discussion around other topics will also be possible and indeed we welcome suggestions for discussion topics from the Implementing Partners – especially when there are early experiences and lessons learned to share!
@mllenicolakelly: That is exactly our plan for April... we will be putting together a calendar of discussion fora, and in advance of the discussions will share short briefs synthesizing existing knowledge, share key questions to be discussed, and requests for experiences and evidence to be shared. What do you think of this plan?
Thanks Carina - nope, I still can't answer the poll or indeed respond/reply
directly to people (other than typing @name...). I'll check with colleagues before the next discussion in case I'm not hovering correctly!
If you've just joined us - please feel free to chime in with your name, organization you work for and something you are passionate about
@Lucile.Robinson: Laurie, any thoughts on how to make this poll work better?
@Laurie, is there a way of having answers nested under the question? this would make it easy to follow
@AnnabellePowell: These are private as we don't publicise the link to anyone but members of the BRACED family, but it is possible someone could stumble across one if they happened to type the right URL (very unlikely). Still, for the most sensitive discussions, we will use a closed forum where there is no chance of anyone outside the discussion seeing it or the results. For discussions of this type, we're going to summarise key points in a blog on the BRACED website, so some of that information would be public.
@mllenicolakelly: Thanks for the feedback. We are very interesting to know what is the best way to make use of opportunities and technologies (such as this discussion forum)
to be in contact and share evidence, lessons, etc.
@edjemba: I think there may be a way of having things nest. I will explore that!
@LaurieGoering@TR_Foundation: agree with Eddie's point. It seems we have many conversations going on at once!
I agree with Edjemba! Getting a bit lost scrolling up and down... On the whole, calendar of dates/topics good idea. Great that all content will still be accessible.
@Judith @Aditya thanks, @Laurie, this would be very helpful
Does anybody have feedback to Fran's question above? (Michelle your feedback is noted - thank you)
For now lets use the hash tags e.e. #Fransquestion
#Fransquestion (!)
I think there may always be some overlap between thematic communities of practice (and how you divide them up) so maybe best to keep going through main project contacts (at least for the moment)?
#Romaine's question: We will be hosting discussion fora in French, and there should be an option for you now to translate the comments
into French too. Can you find that?
#FransQn I think its better to keep the emailing list for now but later separate to thematic groups
@Aditya(ODI): Great suggestion Aditya. We'll
also invite Itad colleagues to join the discussion on measuring evaluation and testing resilience
#Romain's question: I also wonder how well this would work in terms of bandwith/speed/connection - anyone on here based in a 'slower internet' location?
@mllenicolakelly: Super - thanks your suggestion is noted!
#Romaine's question: Is anyone else able to test out the translate option?
#Romain's question @Lucile, I think its pretty easy unlike the audio/video conferencing
#Romain's question #translation Not me
Breaking news: We have 23 participants in this forum - an all time high since we began 45min ago with 17 participants - if you haven't yet commented (or even if you have!) what are your thoughts on this technology so far??
